Communication as an Ambassadors Challenge and Resource

Using the parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector (Lk 18, 9-14), council member Dr. Birgit Sendler-Koschel explained the simultaneous importance of transmitter and receiver, the causes of culturally conditioned (mis)understanding and the interpretation of signs and codes in communication processes. Teachers in particular are “bridge-builders” for the expansion of individual and cultural horizons of interpretation.
Prof. Annette Scheunpflug supplemented the explanations with three communication exercises to begin conversations, non-violent communication and dynamic communication.
