Moravian Vocational Training Centre (MVTC) is a Vocational and Technical Training Centre which is under the Moravian Church in Tanzania- South West Province (MCT-SWP). It was established officially on 15th March, 2000. The main goal of the centre is to enable young generation of Tanzania regardless of gender and religious background become self employed and contribute to eliminate poverty in the country. The centre does this by imparting vocational and technical education and training knowledge and skills to the targeted group. It is registered by the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) in the country. It offers training in Carpentry and Joinery, Domestic Electrical Installation, Tailoring, Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Auto Electrical, Food Production and Full Secretarial Courses as long course ranging to two to three years and there several short courses offered as per community demand and current labour market in the country which are basic driving, solar installation, English, hotel management and there are also short course for all long courses provided at the centre ranging between two weeks to six months. MVTC has both day scholars and boarding and its installed capacity is 400 students at a time. For sustainability, the centre has a small production units in both tailoring and Carpentry and Joinery. Schools, home, church and office furniture and clothes are made here. The vision of the the centre is to provide a quality training training and services in the country.
