Reconstruction of the Groupe Scolaire Frank Adamson de Kibogora

The Groupe Scolaire Frank Adamson de Kibogora (GSFAK) is a secondary school of the Free Methodist Church in Rwanda. In the first semester of the 2019 school year, the GSFA Kibogora was exposed to a great threat: The 280 girls’ dormitory burned down completely and with it the students’ materials such as notebooks, clothing, shoes, mattresses, blankets and beds. The students were left with only the clothes they wore on their bodies. Fortunately, no one was injured because all the residents were attending classes.

GPENreformation supported the reconstruction of the dormitory and thus promoted the improvement of the living conditions of the students. This aid was used to buy mattresses on which the students could sleep and learn. Because everyone knows that a student who does not sleep well cannot learn well. In addition, the support encouraged students to trust that all other problems could be solved. It also showed the school and all its partners that they are not alone.

In order to re-equip the dormitories after this disaster and replace the burnt materials, 15,000,000 RWF (approx. 16.500 US$) and for the renovation of the entire building more than 38,000,000 RWF (approx. 41.500 US$) are needed. The school is grateful for any support!
