Joyful first week at the talents’tent

Leider ist der Eintrag bisher nur auf Englisch verfügbar.

The very first and very festive week passed by at the World Reformation Exhibition in Wittenberg. An exciting time for everyone involved. The talents’tent team welcomed the first guest at the pavilion of schools500reformation/GPENreformation.

The week started with a really special highlight: the first time students were on stage: The Swing Combo of the Evangelisches Gymnasium Bad Marienberg created a fantastic atmosphere with their music. In the course of the week, the talents’tent became more and more popular among the guests: fresh heart waffels on a stick, a shadowy spot to relax with sunny weather up to 30° and interesting facts and stories about protestant schools worldwide  – a perfect combination!

On Saturday, we raised the issue of interreligious dialogue at protestant schools. Wim Kuiper, member of the schools500reformation steering group gave an interesting speech about how protestant schools in the Netherlands handle this topic and which challenges they face. The participants of our panel discussion looked further into the topic adding a German perspective thanks to Volker Franken, headmaster of the Evangelische Gesamtschule Gelsenkirchen-Bismarck. Annette Scheunpflug accompanied the whole day at the talents’tent.

The week ended with a lot of national and international guests coming from the Kirchentag (Church Days) in Berlin to visit the birthplace of Reformation and to attend the ending service on the Elbe Meadows together with more than 100.000 people.
