Based on the reflections triggered by the proposals for the German Language Week, a group of 9th grade students decided to advocate for people in vulnerable situations.

The group mapped and identified demands, for example on hunger, and found that there are hardly any social demands aimed at changing realities. For example, there are girls and women who have difficulty getting sanitary napkins; their right to basic needs such as hygiene and health are violated. Therefore, the group has developed strategies to alert society and make people donate food and sanitary napkins.

To this end, they have carried out actions in school and on social networks.
Girl Up Lajeado, the name chosen by the group for the project, delivered the donations to Saidan and EEEM Santo Antônio, institutions that help children and young people in vulnerable situations.

With the help of teacher Carla Müller, the project was published in German on the PASCH network under the heading “Show your commitment!”, which highlights social action in the context of the pandemic. /
