Originally Usoke Secondary School was a mission school. It was officially founded in 1984 with its motto “Education for Liberation”. It is a Secondary School owned by the Moravian Church in Tanzania, Lake Tanganyika Province since 2013. Before that it belonged to the Moravian Church Western Province.
