Mbeya Moravian Teachers College was established on 28th September 2009 by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training under Act No. 25 of 1978 Section 26 (3) and registered by No. C.U 93 in order to conduct Certificate and Diploma in Education courses as a Private Institution.
The owner and Manager of the institution is the Chairperson of the Moravian Church in Tanzania – South West Province.
The Institution was officially opened on 05th October 2009.
