The school is located in Eastern Region of the country, specifically in the New Juaben Municipality.

The JHS was officially opened on the 29th of September, 1992 with total enrolment of 48 pupils made up of 27 boys and 21 girls.
Mr. J. O. Larbi took over the administration of the school as the first Headmaster while Miss Cecilia Adoma reported as the first tutor of the school.
Over the years there has been a progressive increase in pupils’ enrolment, since the schools establishment currently, pupils’ enrolment stand at 151, and this comprises of 75 boys and 76 girls. The number of tutors has also been improved from one to eight.

Academic work over the years had improved. With an initial percentage pass of less than 50% in the Basic Education Certificate Examination, the school has seen an improvement in the BECE results. The past two years (2014 and 2015) marked a turning point in the BECE results as the school recorded 100%.

Asokore Salvation Army is noted for its outstanding performance in the area of sports and culture. The school can boost of a number of victory won in girls and boys’ soccer as well as athletics over the past five years. The schools performance in the area of local dance is also worth mentioning.

Challenges: the current number of classrooms (3) is inadequate to accommodate the increasing number of pupils, likewise furniture. The school also lacks computer lab, store, library and sick bay. Security is also a problem since the school is not fenced.
